Drive Ride Explore is a small Tasmanian based company for individuals, small groups & families for utility hire, set up specifically for carrying mountain bikes.
Drive Ride Explore are committed to providing quality service and value for money. We aim to meet your vehicle rental needs on every occasion and to make the experience as easy as possible.

CONSUMER RIGHTS STATEMENT

All Your rights set out in this Rental Agreement are in addition to Your rights as a consumer (Your Consumer Rights) under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Australian Consumer Law. Your Consumer Rights are not excluded, restricted or modified by this Rental Agreement. You can find out more about Your Consumer Rights from consumer organisations and bodies such as the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and State/Territory fair trading authorities.

Drive Ride Explore welcomes Your feedback. Please tell us where we have area for possible improvement by contacting us through our website (www.driverideexplore.com.au) or by phone or email. (We would also like to hear about what we are doing right). If You have specific issues or concerns please email admin@driverideexplore.com.au or phone 0455 135 558. Drive Ride Explore aims to resolve standard queries (not involving damage or insurance related issues) within 5 working days. Damage or insurance related issues cannot be allocated a predetermined timeline because of the involvement of external parties over whom Drive Ride Explore has no time control, but we aim for as prompt a resolution as possible.

SHARE THE DRIVE

Add one or more additional drivers to your rental to enjoy the peace of mind that someone else is covered to drive under your rental agreement. By sharing the driving responsibilities, you can lower the risk of having an accident. Please be aware that if an unnamed driver has an accident, your cover will be invalidated.

Additional drivers are permitted to drive provided they meet the following requirements:

  • At the time of picking up the vehicle, all additional drivers must be present with their driver licence.
  • If the additional driver is below the age of 25, they will also be charged the underage surcharge.

Additional drivers must meet the same terms and conditions as the main driver to be covered under the same rental agreement.

For all bookings, the additional driver fee will be charged for each additional person added.

YOUNG DRIVER SURCHARGE

There will be a young driver surcharge payable for all drivers under the age of 25 years. This fee is $16.50 per day.

DAMAGE LIABILITY FEE

Damage Liability Fee (DLF)

In Tasmania, if your rental vehicle is involved in an accident, an insurance excess generally applies. Damage Product Cover is an optional coverage that reduces your financial liability for an additional fee.

Note: DPC does not cover certain loss or damage (including overhead, underbody, and water damage).

Subject to the Drive Ride Explore Rental Terms and Conditions.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROTECTION

Roadside Assistance Cover provides 24 hour roadside breakdown coverage on a comprehensive range of issues, including running out of fuel, keys locked in vehicle, flat tyre assistance and flat battery assistance.

For the ultimate safe driving experience, add Roadside Assistance Protection to your reservation.

In the unlikely event of operational difficulty or unexpected emergency, you want reliable service fast – especially helpful when you’re in an unfamiliar city. With Roadside Assistance Protection, you will get fast, reliable emergency road hazard assistance.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

As well as providing you with a great choice for vehicle hire, we can also help you with out with added little extras to make your journey easier.

PREPAID FUEL

We all know how difficult it is to locate a petrol station and refuel your hire car prior to its return – especially of you are in a hurry!

You can get rid of this problem by purchasing Drive Ride Explore’s prepaid fuel option. We you purchase prepaid fuel, you can make the most of traveling without having to worry about re fuelling, wherever that may be.

BABY SEATS

Australian Standard approved baby seats are compulsory for all infants under 4 years of age. Drive Ride Explore can provide you with forward and rear facing seats. We are happy to fi them in the car, however it does remain the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the seat’s installation meets safety guidelines.

BOOSTER SEATS

Booster seats are compulsory for children up to 7 years. We are happy to fi them in the car, however it does remain the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the seat’s installation meets safety guidelines.

BIKE BOX TRANSFER

We are happy to store your bike box for you while you ride. We can also transfer your box/es to a different location at a fee, if it Is more convenient for you. This transfer charge would be at a cost of $35 per box.

PRIVACY COLLECTION STATEMENT

We at Drive Ride Explore recognise the importance of protecting your personal information. This collection statement explains how Drive Ride Explore protects your privacy and summarises how it collects, uses and discloses personal information about you. This collection statement applies to personal information we collect and hold about you in Australia only.

ABOUT DRIVE RIDE EXPLORE

‘Drive Ride Explore’ is the trading name of Cruse Engineering Pty Limited ABN 56 167 927 584 which located in the Launceston, Tasmania.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DOES DRIVE RIDE EXPLORE COLLECT ABOUT ME AND HOW DOES IT COLLECT IT?

When you rent a vehicle from Drive Ride Explore, we need to collect certain information from you. The service you use will determine what information we collect from you. That information may include your name, contact details, date of birth, driver’s licence number, passport details and payment details. We may collect information about you from you or through, your company, your representatives or a credit reporting body. We may also use electronic tools to monitor the location, usage and servicing of your vehicle, including your speed, time, fuel consumption, distances traveled and current and previous locations visited. Some of this information collected by these electronic tools may constitute personal information within the meaning of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We are required or authorised to collect some personal information under laws such as the following State/Territory vehicle registration laws: Vehicle and Traffic Act (TAS). If we are unable to collect your personal information, this may prevent us from providing our services to you or limit our ability to provide you with the level of service that you would normally expect from us. Where you provide us with personal information about someone else you must have their consent to provide their personal information to us for the purposes set out in this collection statement. By providing your personal information, you agree that it will be used and disclosed by Drive Ride Explore in accordance with this statement and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree you must not provide your personal information and we may not be able to communicate with you or provide certain services to you.

HOW IS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION USED OR DISCLOSED BY DRIVE RIDE EXPLORE?

We may use and disclose your personal information for the following purposes.

General purposes We use your personal information for is to:

  • provide the services that you request;
  • do all things necessary to administer those services;
  • research, develop, manage, protect and improve our services and vehicles;
  • communicate with you regarding your vehicle, safety, arrangements with us and other matters;
  • investigate, prevent and deal with fraud, unlawful activity and breaches of our agreement with you;
  • conduct customer satisfaction surveys and inform you of improvements to our services; and
  • maintain and develop our software and other business systems.

Disclosure to third parties We may disclose your personal information to third parties around the world including:

  • other members of Drive Ride Explore
  • your company or organisation if you use our services under a corporate account;
  • credit card providers;
  • credit reporting agencies (see ‘Payment default’ below) and fraud checking agencies;
  • debt collection agencies, if you default in payment of amounts owed to us;
    councils, government and private organisations responsible for the processing of traffic related infringements;
  • in relation to an accident or claim, insurers, the police and other persons involved in the accident or claim;
  • driver licensing authorities; and
  • government, regulatory and law enforcement agencies where the disclosure is required or authorised by law. Use or disclosure for direct marketing purposes We may use and disclose your personal information to offer you products and services provided by Drive Ride Explore. We may continue to provide these offers to you by email or telephone, or any other form of communication until you opt out. You can opt out by indicating your preference on the Rental Document or by contacting us. Payment default If you default in the payment of any rental fees or charges to us, we may give information about you to a credit reporting body for some or all of the following reasons: to obtain a credit report about you; to allow the credit reporting body to create or maintain a credit information file about you; and to list your default and the debt on that credit information file.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The customer may amend its reservation free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the start date of the rental or during the rental period (providing that we are able to accommodate the change), by contacting Drive Ride Explore on 0455 135 558. If the amendments to the reservation are not completed as stated above, no refunds shall be given for unused days for rentals ended early (i.e. the customer returns the vehicle before the end of the agreed rental period) or late collections, if the customer fails to collect the vehicle on the rental start date or cancellations made after the due rental start date. If the customer wishes to amend the booking under 48hrs before the start of the rental contract, there will be an administration fee charged of $25.00.

Cancellations can only be made by phoning Drive Ride Explore on 0455 135 558. The procedures are as follows;

  • Up to 72 Hours before start of Rental Contract, a full refund will be given.
  • Between 72 – 48hrs before you will be refunded 50% of your booking.
  • No refund will be given if the customer cancels less than 48hrs before or fails to collect the vehicle on the rental start date and has failed to notify Drive Ride Explore in due time.

All refunds will be returned to your account, within business 3 -5 days.

A cancellation confirmation shall be sent to the customer via email.

OUR COVERS

At Drive Ride Explore, we do know that sometimes things can go wrong! To help you with this we are offering some Damage Protection Options that you can purchase. Our damage liability fee (excess) is $4000 for our 4WD’s. See the options below to select something that best suits you.

BASIC COVER

Basic Cover is already included in the price at no additional cost, but if there is Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss you must pay an amount up to the basic Damage Liability Fee (DLF) / Excess amount even if you have travel or car rental excess insurance. Even if you pay the basic DLF / Excess amount, there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances. The DLF / Excess amount payable would be $4000.

MODERATE COVER

Moderate Cover can be purchased for an optional additional cost to reduce the basic Damage Liability Fee / Excess amount if there is Damage, theft of the vehicle or Third Party Loss. But there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances. This DLF / Excess amount would be reduced from $4000 to $2000.

PREMIUM COVER

Premium Cover can be purchased for an optional additional cost that allows you the highest reduction to the basic Damage Liability Fee / Excess amount if there is Damage, theft of the vehicle or Third Party Loss. But there may be no cover for Damage, theft of the Vehicle or Third Party Loss in some circumstances. This DLF / Excess amount would be reduced from $4000 to $0.
